I 2007-2008 hadde Australias nest største flyplass 24,260,000 reisende. Den ligger på den lille drabantbyen Talluamarine med 6541 innbyggere, 23 km nord for Melbourne. Lufthavnen ble åpnet i 1960. Den eies og drives av Australia Pacific Airports Corporation Limited. Flyplassen ble bygget i 1970 for å erstatte Essendon lufthavn, 4,1 mil fra Melbourne lufthavn.
