Vasapapegøye (Coracopsis) er en av fire papegøye arter som holder til på Madagaskar og noen andre øyer vest i Det indiske hav. De plasseres ofte i slektskap med den utdødde maskarenepapegøyen (Mascarinus mascarinus), som levde på Réunion. Vasapapegøyene tilhører tribuset afrikanske papegøyer (Psittacini), som dessuten inkluderer dvergpapegøyer, jakopapegøyer, og langvingepapegøyer.
