Bernard Joseph Baron (født 26. juni 1955 i Richmond, Virginia) er en amerikansk trommeslager innen avant-gardejazz, som ofte spiller med Bill Frisell og John Zorn.

Baron vokste opp i Richmond, Virginia. Da han var ni, han lærte seg hvordan å spille trommer. Som tenåring spilte han i rockeband og dixieland-jazzgrupper. Etter videregående skole, btilbrakte han et år på Berklee College of Music. Han flyttet til Los Angeles på begynnelsen av 1970-tallet og startet på en profesjonell karriere der han spilte med Carmen McRae og Al Jarreau. Han jobbet som freelance trommeslager og session-musiker med Chet Baker, Stan Getz, Svimmel Schauer, og Hampton Hawes.[8]
I 1982 flyttet han til New York og slo seg sammen med gitaristen Bill Frisell, som han ofte spilte med gjennom hele sin karriere. Han spilte også i grupper med Red Rodney, Fred Hersch, Enrico Pieranunzi, og Marc Johnson. Fra slutten av 1980-tallet ble han en viktig del av avant-gardejazzscenen da han jevnlig spilte på Knitting Factory, og der spilte han med sangerinnen Laurie Anderson, og han innledet et langvarig samarbeid med John Zorn. I flere år har han bidratt i Zorns prosjekter Naked City og Masada.[8]
Baron bidro på David Bowie's Outside (1995). Bowie skulle senere skryte av Baron, og sa: "Metronomes skjelver i frykt, han er så stødig."[9]
