Byer på Filippinene

En by (filippinsk: lungsod eller siyudad) er et nivå av lokale myndigheter på Filippinene. Byer er i hierarkiet på samme nivå som kommuner, men er vanligvis mer autonome. Per september 2019 er det 146 byer på Filippinene. I likhet med kommuner deles byer inn i barangayer.

Storbyregioner

Quezon City, som tilhører Metro Manila, er med sine 2 936 116 innbyggere (folketellingen 2015) den mest folkerike byen på Filippinene. Davao er med sine 2 444 kvadratkilometer en av verdens største byer i utstrekning.

Det er tre storbyområder på Filippinene. Den desidert mest folkerike regionen er Metro Manila, med et befolkning på 11 553 427 i 2007. De andre storbyregionene er Metro Cebu med 2 314 897 og Metro Davao med 1 363 337 innbyggere (2007).
