Carole King

Carole King, født 9. februar 1942 i Brooklyn, New York, USA, amerikansk singer-songwriter .
King startet svært ung å skriva hits for grupper som The Drifters og The Shirelles. En perjode spilte hun inn demoer med Paul Simon under namnet The Cousines. Hun var sammen med sin daværende mann, Gerry Goffin, et av 1960-tallets mest framgangsrike låtskriverpar. Kjente grupper som The Beatles, The Animals, Blood, Sweat and Tears, The Byrds og The Everly Brothers har spilt inn deres låter.
På 1970-tallet fikk hun større betydning som soloartist. 1971 ble hennes LP Tapestry nummer en på den amerikanske spillisten og er enda idag en av musikkhistoriens virkliga storselgere. Hun har siden da gitt ut en rekke plater med en myk popstil.
Kings døtre, Louise Goffin og Sherry Goffin, arbeider også som artister og låtskrivere.
