Tsimshian

Tsimshian er et indianerfolk som levde ved Britisk Columbias nordvestre kyst. De levde lenge i langhus av sedertre, mellom elvene Nass og Skeena og på øyene i området. I 2009 ble ca 10.000 personer regnet som tsimshian, hvorav ca 1.500 bosatt i Alaska.

Tsimshianfolket livnærte seg fremst ved fiske, fremfor alt av laks. De jaktet blant annet på bjørn og rådyr. Tsimshianindianene ble utsatt for pågående angrep fra andre stammer, blant annet tlingit, haida og dunne-za.
