Marcia Reynders Ristaino (født 1939) er en amerikansk historiker, sinolog og forfatter.
Utdannelse[rediger | rediger kilde]
I 1962 tok hun en bachelorgrad i europeisk historie ved University of North Carolina i Chapel Hill. I 1964 tok hun mastergraden i asiakunnskap («Asian Studies») ved University of Hawaii i Honolulu. Hun tok doktorgraden i historie ved Georgetown University i Washington i 1977.[2]
Karriere[rediger | rediger kilde]
Fra 1967 til 1976 var hun ansatt i CIA som forskningsanalytiker og spesialassistent ved kontoret for politisk forskning. I 1981 ble hun ansatt ved Library of Congress i Washington, DC.[2] I 1997 begynte hun i Library of Congress' «Chinese Acquisitions Section».[2]
Hun ble redaktør for Washington Journal of Modern China i 1992[2], og fortsatte som redaktør etter at hun gikk av med pensjon i 2007.[3]
I 2004 fikk hun et stipend for å forske på den franske jesuitten Robert Jacquinot de Besange, S.J. (1878-1946), som drev hjelpearbeid blant kinesiske flyktninger i Shanghai under krigen mellom Kina og Japan fra 1937 til 1940.[2]
Hun var ansatt ved Library of Congress til hun gikk av med pensjon i 2007.[4]
