Carles Boix i Serra (født 29. juni 1962 i Barcelona ) er en katalansk og amerikansk statsviter som er spesialisert innen feltet sammenlignende politikk. Han underviser i dag ved Princeton University. Han er en ledende forsker innen empirisk demokratisk teori og komparativ politisk økonomi.
Boix gikk på universitetet i Barcelona, og fikk sin mastergrad og doktorgrad fra Harvard University . Han underviste ved Ohio State University og University of Chicago før han begynte på Princeton University Department of Politics-fakultetet, hvor han er Robert Garrett professor i politikk og offentlige anliggender ved Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.[4]
Boix mottok i 2004 et Guggenheim-stipend mens han var i Chicago . [5] [6] I 2010 ble han utnevnt til stipendiat ved American Academy of Arts and Sciences. [7] [8]
Han var medredaktør av Oxford Handbook of Comparative Politics (Oxford University Press, 2007) og har publisert i tidsskrifter som American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, British Journal of Political Science, Journal of Law, Economics and Organization, Journal of Politics, International Organization, and World Politics.
