Timothy John («Tim») Brennen (født 1965) er en britisk–norsk psykolog. Han er professor i psykologi ved Psykologisk institutt (PSI) ved Universitetet i Oslo; han var forskningsleder og nestleder ved PSI 2008–2011 og er PSIs representant i dekanatet ved SV-fakultetet som visedekan for forskning fra 2016. Han forsker særlig på kognitiv psykologi.
Karriere
[rediger | rediger kilde]Brennen er opprinnelig fra Watford i England. Han er utdannet med bachelorgrad i psykologi fra University of Exeter og ph.d. i kognitiv psykologi fra University of Nottingham. Etter doktorgraden var han forsker ved Université Pierre-Mendès-France og Université de Savoie, før han ble postdoktor ved Psykologisk institutt ved UiO. Han var førsteamanuensis i psykologi ved Universitetet i Tromsø fra 1996 til 2003 og ble professor i psykologi ved UiO i 2003. Han var medlem av instituttledelsen ved Psykologisk institutt (PSI) ved UiO som forskningsleder og visebestyrer ved instituttet fra 2008 til 2011. I 2016 ble han visedekan for forskning ved Det samfunnsvitenskapelige fakultet, som PSI hører under, og dermed PSIs representant i dekanatet.[1] Han er styremedlem i UiO:Norden.[2]
Han ble i statsråd 1. februar 2019 oppnevnt som varamedlem i Kommisjonen for gjenopptakelse av straffesaker for perioden 2019–2022.[3] Brennen er styremedlem i Psykologiforbundet.
Han ble i 1994 gift med klinisk psykolog Ragnhild Dybdahl.[4]
