Melvillehalvøya

Melville Peninsula ligger på vestiden av Foxe Basin

Boothia og Melville peninsulas, Nunavut, Canada.

Melvillehalvøya er en stor halvøy i det canadiske arktiske område, nord for Hudson Bay. Mot øst ligger Foxe Basin og mot vest Boothiagulfen. mot nord skiller Fury og Heclastredet det fra Baffin Island. Mot syd, Repulse Bay og Frozen Strait skiller det fra Southampton Island ved den nordlige del av Hudson Bay. Mot sydvest er det forbundet med hovedlandet gjennom

Rae Isthmus er navnsatt etter den arktiske oppdager, Dr. John Rae. Mellom 1821 og 1823 ble østsiden kartlagt av William Edward Parry. Siden er det blitt en del av Nunavut. Før det var det del av District of Franklin. det meste av halvøya ligger i Nunavut's Qikiqtaaluk regionen, mens det lengst i sydvest, rundt Repulse Bay som ligger i Kivalliq. Bosetninger på halvøya omfatter landsbyer i Repulse Bay og Hall Beach. landsbyen Igloolik ligger på en øy, på den nordøstlige kyst av halvøya.
