East Rutherford er et administrativt område i Bergen County i New Jersey. Ifølge USAs folketelling fra 2000 har området en befolkning på 8 716. Det er en forstad til New York City.
East Rutherford er mest kjent for Meadowlands Sports Complex, som inkluderer Izod Center, hvor NBA-laget New Jersey Nets spiller sine hjemmekamper (og tidligere hjemmebane for NHL-laget New Jersey Devils); og Giants Stadium, hjemmebame for NFL-lagene New York Giants og New York Jets, så vel som Red Bull New York (Major League Soccer) (inntil 2009, da Red Bulls flyttet til Harrison). Dette gjør East Rutherford til det eneste befolkningsområde med mindre enn 10 000 innbyggere som har vært hjemmebane til fem profesjonelle idrettslag samtidig.[3]

East Rutherford's claim to national fame is that it is the home of the Meadowlands Sports Complex, which includes Continental Airlines Arena where both the NBA's New Jersey Nets and the NHL's New Jersey Devils play their home games, and Giants Stadium home of the NFL's Super Bowl XLII Champions New York Giants,plus the New York Jets and MetroStars of Major League Soccer. This makes East Rutherford the only town of fewer than 10,000 people to be home to five professional sports teams.
