Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur eller IIT Kanpur er et statlig, teknisk universitet i India med campus i Kanpur (tidligere Madras) i delstaten Uttar Pradesh, India. Det ble opprettet i 1959. Senere hadde blant andre John Kenneth Galbraith en faglig veiledningsrolle for universitetet.
Dette lærestedet regnes som Indias sjuende beste teknologiske universitet i 2007.[1]
Undervisningen fokuserer på teknologifag, er sammensluttet faglig sett med søsterinstitusjoner i byene Kharagpur, Guwahati, Chennai, Delhi, Bombay, og Roorkee.
Det tilbys studier av høy kvalitet innen særlig IT-fag. Studiene gis opp til doktorgradsnivå. Studenttallet er 4 000 og av disse er 2 000 høyere grads studenter.
SIDBI Innovation and Incubation Centre er en lokal inkubasjonssatsing for delstaten.

IIT-ene ble opprettet etter uavhengigheten i 1947 for å fremme den økonomiske og teknologiske utviklingen i India, og studentene kalles populært for IITitans.
