Ping Stinglehammer. This article is not yet translated. It has gone through the translating machine, but this machine does not produce Norwegian. I'll give one example. The sentence:
-- In author Alfred Young's view, Pope Day provided the "scaffolding, symbolism, and leadership" for resistance to the Stamp Act in 1764–65, forgoing previous gang rivalries in favour of unified resistance to Britain.[75]
-- Is by now rendered as: I forfatteren Alfred Unge's syn, Pave Dag gitt "stillas, symbolikk og ledelse" for motstand mot Stempel Handle i 1764-65, å kutte ut forrige gang rivalisering i favør av felles motstand mot Storbritannia.
-- If I translate this sentence in "Norwegian" back to English it reads: In the author Alfred Unge's [sic] sight, the pope called Dag gave [a] "scaffold, symbolism and leadership" for [the] resistance against the [thing called] Stempel Handle in 1764-65, to cut out last times rivalry in favour of common resistance to Great Britain.
-- Stempel handle does not make sense at all in Norwegian as «et stempel» means «a stamp» (and usually associated with stamp pads providing ink for stamps) and «å handle» is «to shop». w:en:Stamp Act 1765 is about legislation. Stillas refers to a physical construction used while working on buildings and from the context scaffolding here should be translated to rammeverk, and the rest is rather difficult as the complete context, i.e. the whole sentence Alfred Unge (or rather Alfred Young, is missing from the original article.
-- We would very much like to be welcoming (see Brukerdiskusjon:Linaria1), but I would very much like to know that this translation will be completed. It is unfortunately not possible to not revert it as it is now because too much of it at present is not Norwegian. Please, pretty please, confirm that the student will continue working on the translation. --ツDyveldi☯ prat ✉ post 3. des. 2017 kl. 22:40 (CET)[svar]
