Virginia Commonwealth University er et delstatseid, forskningsbasert universitet i Richmond i delstaten Virginia, USA.
Det ble opprettet i 1838 som Medical College of Virginia, under Hampden-Sydney College. Siden ble medisinstudiene delvis skilt ut og lagt under College of William and Mary, det skjedde i 1925. Medical College of Virginia ble i 1968 slått sammen med Richmond Professional Institute.
