Australian National University (eller ANU) er et statlig forskningsuniversitet i Canberra i delstaten Australian Capital territory, Australia. Det ble grunnlagt i 1946 av det australske parlamentet, for å styrke landets forskning. I 1960 ble det også åpnet for lavere grads studier, ved at Canberra University College ble fusjonert inn i ANU. Universitetet har meget høy faglig rangering og anseelse, og teller fem Nobelpristakere blant sine tidligere og nåværende ansatte.

The Times Higher Education Supplement rangerer Australian National University som nr 16 i verden i 2007, høyere enn for eksempel Stanford University og Cornell University.
