English: A U.S. Navy Grumman TBF-1 Avenger of Torpedo Squadron 4 (VT-4, side number 4-T-2) dropping a Mark XIII torpedo, 30 October 1942. This torpedo is fitted with a plywood tail shroud to improve its airborne performance.
