Photograph of a BL 15 pounder field gun of 7th Field Battery being towed cross-country by oxen, German East Africa campaign, World War I.
It is identified by the axletree seats, large recoil spring on the trail, obviously heavy weight and flared muzzle.


The battery of 4 guns had Mauritian and South African gunners, Indian drivers, African ammunition crew.
