Glenn Branca
Glenn Branca (født 6. oktober 1948) er en amerikansk komponist. Han regnes som en minimalistiske komponist, og hans arbeid knyttes til andre avantgardistiske bevegelser som No Wave-bevegelsen.
Glenn Branca kombinerte rock med kunstmusikk type Philip Glass, Steve Reich og LaMonte Young. Branca måte å komponere på ved å bruke klangflater og musikalske tettheter framfor rytme, beat og de vanlige rock-klisjèene skulle få stor innvirkning på rocken i 80- og 90-åra. I 1980 begynte han å bruke mange el-gitarister, opptil 10 samtidig, for å bygge opp voldsomme minimalistiske støyvegger. Mange kjente gitarister var innom hans forskjellige gitar-konstellasjoner. To av dem var Lee Ranaldo og Thurston Moore, som videreførte Branca's idèer igjennom sitt band, Sonic Youth.
