George Washington University er et privat universitet i Washington, D.C., grunnlagt i 1821 som Columbian College. Det ble grunnlagt med utgangspunkt i et initiativ fra president George Washington for å gi ungdom i USA kunnskap om politisk ledelse og administrasjon i kombinasjon med akademisk trening.
Det faglige hovedfokus er på statsvitenskap og internasjonale studier, foruten jus og økonomi. Skolepengene (2006) utgjør US$ 39 240, som er høyt i amerikansk sammenheng. Det tildeles alle gradsnivåer inklusive doktorgrad (Ph.D).
Mount Vernon campus ble etablert i 1998.
