Hugo Lewi Hammer (født 1976) er en norsk doktor i beregningsorientert statistikk, og er tilsatt som professor ved Institutt for informasjonsteknologi ved Oslomet - storbyuniversitetet.[1] Hammer er også leder av OsloMet Artificial Intelligence Lab (AI Lab) - et forskningssenter for kunstig intelligens som drives av Oslomet og Simula Research Laboratory.

Hammers fremste forskningsinteresser er Bayesiansk statistikk, maskinlæring og forsterkende læring, sanntidsanalyse og stokastisk simulering.
Utdanning og yrkeskarriere
Hammer har en doktorgrad i statistikk fra Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU). Avhandlingen hadde tittelen Topics in stochastic simulation, with an application to seismic inversion, og ble publisert i 2008.[2]
I 2008 ble Hammer ansatt som forsker ved Norsk Regnesentral, og året etter ble han tilsatt som førsteamanuensis ved Institutt for informasjonsteknologi ved Oslomet - storbyuniversitetet, der han har vært tilsatt siden.
