Gamlebyen i Gaza er hoveddelen ac byen Gazas historiske sentrum. Den er inndelt i to kvarterer. I nord er Daraj-kvarteret (også kjent som det muslimske kvarter), og det sørlige Zaytun-kvarteret (som historisk rommet det jødiske kvarter og det kristne kvarter.) De fleste byggverk her stammer fra mamlukkenes og osmanenes epoker, ogg noenble bygd på toppen av eldre strukturer. Den akller eldste del av Gamlebyen dekker 1,6 km2.[1]
Det er syv historiske porter som fører inn i Gamlebyen: Bab Asqalan (Askalonporten), Bab al-Darum (Deir al-Balah-porten), Bab al-Bahr (Havsporten), Bab Marnas (Marnasporten), Bab al-Baladiyah (Byporten), Bab al-Khalil (Hebronporten), og Bab al-Muntar (Tell al-Muntar-porten).[2]
Noen av de eldre bygninger i Gamlebyen oppviser dekorativt ablaq-stilen sim har alternerebdse lag av rødt og hvitt murarbeide, kjent fra mamlukkisk tid. I Daraj er Gullmarkedet (Qissariya) og Gazas store moské (den eldste moskéen i Gaza)[3] og Sayed al-Hashim-moskéen.[4] I Zaytun ligger Sankt Porfyrios' kirke, Katib al-Wilaya-moskéen og Hamam as-Sammara («Samaritanerens badehus»).[5]
