Trapeshopen er en åpen stjernehop med stjerner i hjertet av Oriontåken, i stjernebildet Orion. Stjernehopen ble oppdaget av Galileo Galilei. 4. februar 1617 skisserte han tre av stjernene (A, C, D), men ikke den omgivende tåken.^[1]^[2]^[3]
