Å kaste sten i glasshus

George Herbert skrev i sitt verk Outlandish Proverbs fra 1640: «Whose house is of glasse, must not throw stones at another».[1]

There is a cultural expression that sounds similar to John 8:7. This expression states, "If a person 'lives in a glass house,' he or she 'shouldn't throw stones.'" This cultural expression means that a person who has his or her own faults, should not point out the faults of others. The Bible makes a similar statement. In Matthew 7:3-5, God says people should not act hypocritically by pointing out the sins of others when they themselves are deeply involved in sin.»
