Maqama

Makame eller Maqama (arabisk: مقامة‎, Maqāma) er en prosimetrisk form for den arabiske prosa. Den kjennetegnes ved bruk av rim i prosatekst.

Makame oppstod fra bønnetaler av al Hamadhani på 900-tallet og nådde en særlig høyverdig form på 1000-tallet. En av de viktigste forfattere av makamer er ved siden av al Hamadhani hans imitator Hariri i Basra.

I hebraisk litteratur finnes det tilsvarende, kalt (מחברת) Machberet.
