Gliese 229 (har også betegnelsen Gl 229 eller GJ. 229) er en rød dvergstjerne på rundt 19 lysårs avstand i stjernebildet Haren. Stjernen er kjent for år være en flarestjerne.
I 1995 ble det også oppdaget en brun dverg som kretset rundt stjernen, og den har fått betegnelsen Gliese 229 b
