Beskrivelse
English: Three swimmers from the Scottish team for the 1950 British Empire Games wearing their official uniform: Elizabeth Turner, Helen Gordon, and Margaret Girvan. The women are at a garden party at Government House in Auckland. Photograph taken on 2 February 1950 by an Evening Post photographer. Conditions were decidedly sultry when Auckland yesterday had its first garden party for many years at Government House and for the first time at such a function had Empire athletes as guests of honour. Enjoying a cooling drink are Scotland's three women swimmers (from left) Elizabeth Turner, Helen Gordon, and Margaret Girvan.
