• In the lower half of the picture pride is represented in the form of a young man dressed in finery. He is assailed by two devils. (From p. 67 of the cited source.)
• In the fifteenth-century BL MS Additional 37,049 f. 47v a miniature illustrating pride depicts a youth in a tall hat, blue puffed jacket, red breeches, long pyked shoes, with a sword, seized by two devils.
