Correction

Sorry, I don't speak Norwegian, but I found an error in this article and hope someone here can correct it. The Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften in Munich is not a university. Maurer was a lecturer and professor at the University of Munich since 1847. He was appointed a member of the Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften (Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities) in 1865.

The article also says that Maurer stayed in office until 1893, what is the source for this? My sources say that he retired in 1888. --Neitram 8. jun 2011 kl. 11:32 (CEST)

I fixed the Academy - membership, since it fits with other info. Could it be that he became emeritus from 1888, but haunted his old institute some years more? If this information is mine then I guess the sources might be the book Fra Ulrikke til Alperne (1925) by artist Marcus Grønvold.
