Valget i Sør-Afrika i 2009
Valget i Sør-Afrika 2009 ble avholdt 22. april 2009 for å velge ny regjering i Sør-Afrika og provinsiell lovgivningsmakt i hver provins.
Dette var det fjerde parlamentariske valget holdt siden Apartheid ble avsluttet. Sør-Afrikas nasjonalforsamling består av 400 medlemmer valgt ved forholdstallsvalg. 200 medlemmer blir valgt fra nasjonale partilister, mens de andre 200 blir valg fra partilister i hvert av de ni provinsene. Presidenten i Sør-Afrika blir valgt av Nasjonalforsamlingen etter hvert valg.
Tidligere president, Thabo Mbeki, stilte ikke til gjenvalg som president etter konstitusjonen av 1996. African National Congress' presidentkandidat er Jacob Zuma, leder for ANC i 2009.[1]
