Michael Shawn Hickenbottom[2] (født 22. juli 1965),[5] bedre kjent som Shawn Michaels, også kjent som «Heartbreak Kid» (HBK), er en pensjonert amerikansk fribryter som er under kontrakt med WWE World Wrestling Entertainment i en legends deal. Han var wrestler i 26 år og har vært WWF Champion tre ganger og World Heavyweight Champion en gang.
Han startet for fullt i WWE i 1988. Han kom inn i selskapet med Marty Jannetty i et tag team som de sammen kalte The Rockers. I 1993 gikk de hver for seg og Shawn Michaels begynte å kalle seg Heartbreak Kid. Han vant sin første WWF tittel på Wrestlemania 12 når han slo Bret Hart i en Iron-Man Match. Senere på 90-tallet startet han D-Generation X sammen med Triple H og Chyna, etter Michaels pensjon i 1998, ble Triple H lederen av gruppen, og det kom tre nye medlemmer. Disse var X-Pac, Road Dogg og Billy Gunn. Han var også med i den første Hell In A Cell kampen mot The Undertaker på Badd Blood i 1997, en kamp han vant, og der vi også så debuten til Kane. Han pensjonerte seg første gang i 1998 etter Wrestlemania 14, etter en ryggskade som han fikk påført i en Casket-Match mot The Undertaker Januar samme år.
Han returnerte til ringen på Summerslam i 2002 der han slo sin gamle venn Triple H i en street-match. Dette var Michaels første kamp siden Mars 1998. November samme år, på Survivor Series kapret han The World Heavyweight Championship etter han vant den aller første Elimination Chamber kampen. En måned senere mistet han tittelen til Triple H. Han har vunnet Match of the Year flere ganger i sin karriere og hadde fantastiske kamper mot blant annet Kurt Angle, John Cena, Ric Flair og The Undertaker på Wrestlemania. På grunn av kvaliteten i kampene på Wrestlemania har han fått kallenavnet Mr. Wrestlemania. Han la opp 28. Mars 2010, når han tapte mot The Undertaker på Wrestlemania XXVI. Året etter ble han inducta i WWE's Hall of Fame.
