Paul Anthony Rule (født 1937 i Melbourne i Australia) er en australsk sinolog og religionshistoriker. Han underviste i kinesisk religion og kinesisk historie ved LaTrobe University i Melbourne i Australia frem til desember 2002.

Han ble utdannet ved St. Bernard's College, St. Kevin's College og University of Melbourne. Han var prest i jesuittordenen fra 1955 til 1964, og studerte filosofi, humaniora og pedagogikk, og underviste i to år ved jesuittenes St. Aloysius College i Milsons Point i Sydney.

Han har publisert bøker om jesuittenes misjonsarbeid i Kina, blant dem K'ung-tzu or Confucius: The Jesuit Interpretation of Confucianism (1986), som bygger på hans doktorgradsdissertasjon fra 1972 ved Australian National University.

Han forsker for San Francisco Ricci Institute med tanke på et verk om den kinesiske ritestriden, og for Instituto Ricci de Macau redigerer han en annotert oversettelse av Acta Pekinensia.
