Hardanger Fartøyvernsenter
Hardanger fartøyvernsenter er en stiftelse som utfører tjenester innen fartøyvern, nybygging og restaurering av klinkbygde småbåter. Senteret har også skipssmed, rigger og reipslagerer i arbeid. Bedriften har lærlingplasser innen båtbyggeri og reipslageri. Som del av sin museumsvirksomhet seiler SJ Mathilde museumstokt og leirskole. I tillegg til dette leverer senteret tjenester innen dokumentasjon for riksantikvaren og private.
Senteret ble etablert i 1984, og ligger i Norheimsund i Kvam kommune i Hordaland. Det er ett av tre nasjonale fartøyvernsenter utpekt av Riksantikvaren. Stiftelsen eier og driver hardangerjakta «Mathilde», motoryachten «Faun», kutteren «Vikingen» og motorferja «Folgefonn».
Hardanger Fartøyvernsenter sysselsetter 35 personer. I 2017 hadde stiftelsen 18 000 besøkende og en omsetning på rundt 24 millioner kroner. Fra 2007 er Hardanger fartøyvernsenter en del av Hardanger og Voss museum.

Senteret er tildelt Olavsrosa.
I juni 2023 ble de norske fartøyvernsentrene de Bredalsholmen Dokk og fartøyvernsenter, Hardanger Fartøyvernsenter og Nordnorsk Fartøyvernsenter tildelt Europa Nostra-prisen.[1] Juryen begrunnet tildelingen som følger:
«Norway’s National Centres for Restoration of Historic Vessels not only safeguard cultural heritage but also generate economic value for the communities in which they are located. The professionalism of this initiative is clearly evident, as the work produced is high quality, and the organisation maintains a well-documented approach and enjoys strong national support from the Norwegian government. The long-term impact of the three centres is commendable, and is supported by convincing data that demonstrates the tangible outcomes of their work. This initiative stands out for its comprehensive approach, creating a wholesome experience that sets an impressive example for other European countries facing similar challenges in preserving their maritime heritage.»[1]
