English: Flying Bomb- V1 Bomb Damage in London, England, UK, 1944
Civil Defence rescue workers stand on piles of rubble as they try to dig survivors out of collapsed buildings following a V1 attack in the Highland Road and Lunham Road area of Norwood, London, SE19. Stretcher bearers stand in readiness, should a casualty be brought out. In the foreground, piles of timber can be seen amongst the brick rubble and debris, and to the left, two men can be seen, their spades resting on the rubble, as one lights a cigarette during a break from rescue work. In the background, the remains of half-destroyed houses can be also be seen.

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
